DANQUA Releases New Album Chants of Hope
Ghanaian singer, songwriter and producer Danqua returns with Chants of Hope, an eight-track album exploring faith, fear, vulnerability, perseverance and the search for light in uncertain times.
Blending soulful melodies, African rhythms, spiritual themes and introspective songwriting, the album finds Danqua continuing to build a sound that sits comfortably between contemporary African music, soul and deeply personal storytelling.
Chants of Hope features “Last Man Standing,” “Exodus 14-14,” “Faith,” “Sane,” “Deep Down I Fear,” “Orison,” “Psalms,” and “Goodness & Mercy.” Danqua handles much of the production himself, with TubhaniMuzik contributing to “Deep Down I Fear” and Ndandi Hills producing “Psalms.”
The central idea behind the album is straightforward but deeply human: hope does not require the absence of fear. Sometimes, hope is simply choosing to continue.
That idea runs through the project, from the resilience of “Last Man Standing” to the vulnerability of “Deep Down I Fear,” the spiritual reflection of “Faith” and “Psalms,” and the gratitude that closes the album on “Goodness & Mercy.”
The project follows a growing catalogue that includes Danqua’s debut album No Walls, The Fallacy EP, Orison and Exodus 14-14. The latter, inspired by Exodus 14:14, marked a significant return for the artist and was supported by street activations, media introductions and a regional campaign in Kumasi and the Ashanti Region.
With Chants of Hope, Danqua continues that spiritual and artistic conversation, but turns the lens further inward.
The result is a project about the things people carry quietly: fear, uncertainty, faith, struggle and the determination to keep moving.
As an independent artist, Danqua has also made community a central part of the album’s journey, bringing listeners into the process through previews, conversations and direct engagement around the music.
