Akwaaba UK Explains Ghana Party in the Park & ShattaFest UK Collaboration
Following the unfortunate incident that disrupted this year's Ghana Party in the Park in London conversations have intensified online regarding the event's organisation and the partnership behind this year's edition.
Contrary to some claims circulating on social media organisers Akwaaba UK had already stated in their official press statement issued on 2 August that the 2026 edition of Ghana Party in the Park was presented in conjunction with ShattaFest making it a collaborative event rather than a complete rebrand.
In the same statement the organisers explained that the decision to halt the event was taken with the safety and wellbeing of attendees as the highest priority.
The public safety of our attendees was paramount and after further deliberations with the relevant authorities, we took the difficult decision to bring the event to an end.
Akwaaba UK also confirmed that the incident remains under investigation and assured patrons, artists, partners and the general public that further updates will be provided as soon as official information becomes available.
As investigations continue organisers have urged the public to avoid speculation and rely on verified updates regarding the incident.
