Stonebwoy Shows Support After Ghana Party in the Park Disruption in London
Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy has shared his thoughts following the unfortunate incident that disrupted this year's Ghana Party in the Park event in London.
The festival which was themed “Shattafest” in celebration of dancehall icon Shatta Wale was brought to an abrupt halt following a fire incident at a vendor’s area.
The situation was brought under control but later in the day a crowd surge at one of the entrances caused panic among attendees resulting in injuries to some attendees.
Reacting to the development Stonebwoy expressed his concern and sympathy for everyone affected by the incident describing it as the kind of news no stakeholder within Ghana's music industry would want to hear.
In a post shared on X the Bhim Nation President wrote:
“This is definitely not the kind of news any event organizer, artist, fan or promoter of the Ghana music agenda wants to hear. Our heart goes out to all those affected.”
Stonebwoy's message comes as industry players continue to show support and solidarity with the organisers fans and patrons who experienced the disruption.
Meanwhile organisers Akwaaba UK have clarified that no stabbing incidents or fatalities occurred at the event while acknowledging that a vendor fire outbreak triggered panic and a crowd surge which eventually led authorities to call off the festival for safety reasons.
The incident has sparked conversations around event safety crowd management and the need for stronger measures as Ghanaian music and cultural events continue to attract large audiences internationally.
