Baba Sadiq Sworn In as Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria

Creative entrepreneur and former Okaikwei Central parliamentary candidate, Baba Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has officially been sworn in as Ghana’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

His appointment by President John Dramani Mahama marks a new chapter in his career, transitioning from Ghana’s creative and political space into frontline diplomacy.

He is expected to represent Ghana’s interests in Nigeria and contribute to strengthening the longstanding diplomatic, cultural, trade and economic relations between the two West African nations.

Ghana and Nigeria share deep historical and cultural ties, as well as strong cooperation in areas including trade, investment, education, energy and regional integration.

Baba Sadiq therefore takes up the role at an important time as both countries continue to deepen bilateral relations and promote greater opportunities for their citizens and businesses.

His appointment also represents a significant shift from his work in Ghana’s creative and media industries into international diplomacy, bringing his experience in communication, entertainment and public engagement to his new role.
