Nigerian Music Lawyer and Founder of Amelia Songs, Akinyemi Ayinoluwa, Visits Ghana

Nigerian entertainment lawyer and founder of Amelia Songs, Akinyemi Ayinoluwa, has arrived in Ghana as part of a music and cultural visit aimed at strengthening conversations around the contributions of songwriters and music producers to the African music industry.

Akinyemi Ayinoluwa is an entertainment lawyer and a strong advocate for songwriters and producers championing greater recognition, protection and appreciation for the creative professionals behind some of the continent’s biggest musical works.

Following a series of his Akinyemi Songwriter Challenge activities across Africa the Nigerian music lawyer is in Ghana to engage with key players within the country’s music ecosystem and gain insights into Ghana’s rich music culture.

During his visit Akinyemi is scheduled to meet with a number of Ghanaian songwriters and producers while also participating in selected media engagements to highlight the important roles these professionals play in the development and success of the music industry.

His engagements will also focus on the need for songwriters and producers to receive proper credit and recognition for their creative contributions, particularly at a time when African music continues to gain significant global attention.

Akinyemi’s visit is expected to further encourage conversations around fair recognition, intellectual property and the need to honour the creative minds who contribute to the making of music beyond the faces of the artistes who perform it.

The Ghana visit forms part of his broader advocacy to create greater awareness of the value of songwriters and producers and promote an industry where their contributions are properly acknowledged and celebrated.
